Public Council
Public Council — at a ministry, other central executive body, the Council of Ministers of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, regional, Kyiv and Sevastopol city, district, rayon, district in the cities of. Kyiv and Sevastopol state administrations (hereinafter referred to as the public council) is a temporary advisory body established to facilitate public participation in the formulation and implementation of state policy.
The creation of the first public councils was initiated by the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine of October 15, 2004, No. 1378 "Some Issues on Ensuring Public Participation in the Formation and Implementation of State Policy".
The Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine of November 3, 2010, No. 996 "On Ensuring Public Participation in the Formation and Implementation of State Policy" is currently in force.
The main tasks of the public council are:
- creating conditions for citizens to exercise their constitutional right to participate in the management of public affairs;
- exercising public control over the activities of executive authorities;
- facilitating the consideration of public opinion by executive authorities in the formulation and implementation of state policy.
